Tajemné stezky - Vodním světem Soběslavska – Dvořák Otomar (2021)

Writer Otomar Dvořák "immersed" himself in the watery world of Soběslav, in the typical South Bohemian landscape, shimmering with the surfaces of numerous ponds. We will visit Kafka's castle Strkov in Planá nad Lužnicí with him, discover the ancient Slavic fortification of Chýnov, and enter the colorfully vibrant Chýnov Cave via the Devil's Steps. We will also climb the towers of the romantic Choustník Castle, see the last Hussite battlefield at Křeč, and the forgotten spa of Svatá Anna. We will descend from the edge of the Highlands back into the pond lowlands centered in the town of storks – Tučapy. We will cross to the other bank of the Lužnice, sit at the picturesque fortress of Skalná, explore the barrow landscape of spirits, the Petrified Wedding near Hlavatce, and the haunted places on the outskirts of Černická Obora. Above all, we will encounter the fascinating and utterly unique landscape of the Soběslav Marshes, peat bogs surrounded by a ring of marsh villages, whose beauty has become a symbol of South Bohemia. We will explore them all, intoxicated by the charm of the farms, whose rounded shapes and decorative embellishments resemble festive folk gingerbread. We will get to know peasant Baroque and its creators up close.
