Tajemné stezky - Z hradu na hrad středním Krušnohořím – Grezlová Otilie K. (2020)

After the first book 'Mining Glory of the Central Ore Mountains', we will continue eastward. We will see that this part of the Ore Mountains is noticeably 'different' from Vejprty, Měděnec and its surroundings, Výsluní, and perhaps Křimovsko. Our journey and storytelling will begin in Jirkov and Červený Hrádek, and through many remarkable villages, deep forests, and even deeper valleys, we will reach Brandov, Mount St. Catherine, and Český Jiřetín. We will not miss the Fláje reservoir and its surroundings, exploring what lies within the designated area. We will also stop at one of the seven most endangered monuments in Europe - Jezeří Castle. We will conclude our journey in the largest town here, Litvínov, and bid farewell in Lom. The character of the landscape, especially in the southern part, bears the stigma of proximity to a strong industrial area and urban development; on the other hand, we will be amazed by the rocky and very steep valleys for which this part of the mountains is famous. The peaks do not exceed a thousand meters, but given the starting point, one can get quite out of breath during the ascent. This journey will also include reservoirs, as well as vast meadows and forests where you won't encounter a soul for days, nature reserves, and extinct villages, whose last traces are disappearing under the rule of prevailing entropy.
