Description
Kladské – once an integral part of the Kingdom of Bohemia, later, after various wars and peace agreements, first Prussian, then German, and currently Polish – is a beautiful land. Equally beautiful and interesting is the Kladské borderland – a border region between Broumov and the Orlické Mountains. Together with the authors, we will visit stunning Czech and Polish towns from Broumov in the north through Polish Kladko and Kladská Bystřice to Náchod, Nové Město, and Česká Skalice in the south and southwest. We must not miss the world-famous rock towns near Adršpach and Teplice nad Metují, the rock labyrinths on the peaks of the table mountains of Bor and Hejšovina, the spas, castles, chateaux, baroque monasteries, churches, and pilgrimage sites scattered throughout the picturesque landscape of the entire region. During our journey, we will get to know local giants, natives, and personalities who have worked here in the past. And since we are traveling along the Mysterious Paths, we might encounter some of the characters – mostly the evil ones – in the form of various ghosts, apparitions, and spirits from local legends and tales. So welcome to the Kladské borderland, dear readers, and watch out for the wandering stone that is surely lying somewhere in the rocky labyrinths...
