The new edition of this textbook is primarily intended for the fields of cooking and waitstaff at secondary vocational schools, students of secondary hotel schools, as well as other individuals interested in the cooking and waitstaff profession who wish to improve their knowledge of professional English. The textbook is structured into 20 lessons, presented in a clear and logical format that allows students to easily navigate through the material. Each lesson focuses mainly on acquiring and developing communicative skills, understanding both general and specialized texts, and working with professional vocabulary. The choice of grammatical content is selective, as it is subordinated to the intended goal of teaching students to communicate correctly in English in the practical context of a waiter or cook, while using appropriate terminology and suitable grammatical structures. Each lesson includes an introductory section, usually in the form of Reading or Listening, followed by a section called EXPANDING OUR VOCABULARY, in which knowledge of specialized terms from the field of gastronomy, and partially from hospitality, is gradually built.
