The fates of the Kutnauer family, connected with Šimon Sušický and Jan Kutnauer of Sonnenštejn, two burghers executed during the Old Town execution on June 21, 1621, primarily reflect the difficult personal decision-making in a time that was unclear, politically complex, and demanded individual responsibility. Religious faith played an important role. A deep conviction about a specific confession, in the case of the Kutnauers associated with the Unity of Brethren, often significantly influenced people's lives. The stories captured here offer an opportunity to reflect on what it means to remain true to one's beliefs and the legacy of one's ancestors and why a person sometimes reevaluates their opinions. The narrative, which brings to life the fates of specific individuals and symbolically represents what dozens of others experienced, can be inspiring even for our time. The book processes not only generally known facts but also draws from documents and visual evidence discovered and researched by historian and archivist Olga Fejtová. Based on these documents, she began to compile specific fates and narrated them to dramaturge Zuzana Vojtíšková.
