Description
The publication is already the seventh volume of a long-term project by the Museum of the Capital City of Prague about the historical suburbs of Prague. Through period photographs, postcards, prints, and other materials, it captures the history of the place up to the mid-20th century, with selected thematic overlaps into the 1980s. The reader will become acquainted with the appearance of this significant locality, which lies on the territory and in the vicinity of the oldest male Benedictine monastery in Bohemia, through an imaginary walk through the nooks of old Břevnov. They will visit places long gone (such as Břevnov Square and its surroundings) and learn not only about the rich social and cultural life of the local inhabitants but also about typical Břevnov trades and pubs.
