A new and entirely original overview of Azerbaijani grammar is the work of leading Czech Turkologist PhDr. Tomáš Laně and the LINGEA team. The aim of this guide is primarily to provide the user with the clearest possible overview of contemporary Azerbaijani grammar without excessive linguistic theory and unnecessary technical terms. Individual grammatical phenomena are presented to the reader mainly based on simple, clear rules and with the help of practical examples of the given phenomenon, if possible directly related to Czech, so that even a user without a deeper knowledge of the language can understand the principles of formation and usage of the given phenomenon from the explanation and then be able to actively use it in real communication without major difficulties. In addition to the description and examples of common contemporary grammatical phenomena, the book also contains numerous notes pointing out exceptions, interesting facts, references to related chapters, etc., which are very beneficial for the practical acquisition of the language. The guide is primarily intended for those who are encountering the language for the first time. Therefore, we have supplemented the overview with Azerbaijani equivalents of the terminology used, which will facilitate searching in more detailed foreign language guides.
