The first puppet film, which later became part of the film Špalíček, was called Bethlehem. Several paintings and a poster were created on the Christmas theme, but he never got around to making his own cut-out nativity scene. This year marks a hundred years since Trnka's birth, and Klára Trnková attempted to assemble a nativity scene from figures from his Christmas postcards as a reminder of beautiful childhood years.
