An extraordinarily exciting chapter of World War II, in which Italian submarines played a remarkable role, fighting not only in the waters of the Mediterranean but also in the Red Sea and the Atlantic. The Italian submarine fleet, incidentally armed with Škoda cannons, was the second largest in the world in 1939, and its submariners were the second most successful in the war, right after the Germans.
