Description
It is the summer of 1945. Klára, along with her parents and little brother, is heading to the Sudetenland. They have left Prague behind. Her father is looking forward to a nice job in a kaolin mine, while her mother faces the life of a housewife. For her, everything will be harder than she can imagine on the way. Eight-year-old Klárka discovers a new world; she falls in love with the mountains immediately, feels at home in the cottage, and soon meets someone whom Old Wolfgang introduces her to in the looted village after the Germans, with all its good and bad. Helga grew up here, took care of her family, raised children, and then was left alone. Abandoned. Full of pain, sadness, and suffering. Now, this curious eight-year-old girl, free of prejudice, has pulled her out of despair and helped her leave behind a horrific past. Thanks to Klárka, Helga is no longer just the one whom everyone in the village forgot on that one terrifying day, both fortunately and unfortunately at the same time.
