Description
In the 1970s, the caretaker of the nationalized castle receives a letter from the former owner: Countess Sofia has passed away and wishes to be laid to rest in the castle chapel. Despite the somber times of normalization, the former staff decides to fulfill the late countess's last wish. A plan is devised, and everyone undoubtedly carries it out. Perhaps everything will go as it should. However, the world plays tricks, and at the same time, a second letter arrives at the castle, this time official with a ministerial letterhead. The story of the requiem mass for the countess, prepared at a time when such activities were frowned upon, is told by the caretaker's daughter, Johanka. She shows how fulfilling a single wish can have dire consequences for many for a lifetime...
