What all happens beneath the surface? What does the bottom of a completely ordinary pond look like? What is it really like underwater? Life there also runs like a race. At first glance, it is clear that it is a somewhat wet life - which does not bother, for example, the Toad, who most often hangs out in the Green Pond, hidden behind two flat stones. Toads belong to amphibians, who can dwell on dry land as well as in water, where they like to ponder the difference between a flood and high water, when a downpour will occur, and whether a water mirage is a dreamy illusion or nonsense. For dinner, they prefer well-fed flies above all else and they don't mind that after such a hearty meal they might gain a little weight. They keep their slim figure more so than the water striders, merciless water beauties who parade across the water's surface from morning till evening, and everyone else gazes at them in awe, including the water sprite. Among his best friends are carp, who vainly ponder how many scales a new suit will cost them. And also the sticklebacks, but they rarely swim by. However, if they do appear, it is an event that rouses even the notoriously known crayfish Tenfinger, the pike with the peculiar name Šárka Ocelová, or the lampreys, which look more like some kind of water...
