Description
The first part of a trilogy about the music business, a sort of diary of the times. The hero experiences the entire developmental process of the music market from 1989 to the present: all its pitfalls, joys, and sorrows. He battles his private life with successes and failures, just as he does with the successes and failures in the industry that has become his fate. It is not an easy fight, but even though "blood often flows," there are also plenty of laughs and rare moments worth living for. The story draws from real events, but not all characters are fictional. It describes how record companies were created, how distribution companies were founded and went bankrupt, how careers and wealth were born for those lucky enough to ride that amazing carousel. How they lived and what life in that environment entailed. You will read about friendships, loves, sex, "drinking parties," deceit, and everything else that the business of selling sound recordings brought and perhaps still brings. Don't expect hard facts. After all, it's about entertainment. There is no business like show business!
