This Czech poetry collection takes another step into Václav Hons’s thoughts and continues to emphasize poetic punchlines. It also contains humor, the dismantling of self-deceptions and ironic metaphors. Born in 1938, Hons presents his twenty-second volume of poetry from the past several years. In addition to translating from German and Bulgarian, he previously worked as a songwriter, writing, among other pieces, “Neposlušné tenisky” for Lucie Bílá, as well as lyrics for H. Zagorová, V. Špinarová, K. Gott and others. Introducing this collection, the author says that even a sleeping god knows that a madman writes and writes, while the world believes him and entrusts itself to him, and angels fly. Whether we die tomorrow does not matter.
