Description
Handel, his life, and especially his music have accompanied the author since his student years. The poem is thus also a tribute to the friendly creative meeting of both protagonists. It moves in two positions: the more epic one belongs to the composer, while the more lyrical, subjective one predominantly belongs to the poet. Both positions are also distinguished by free and bound verse. The alternation of these positions creates a creative tension between the baroque yesterday and today's postmodern reality. Water Music is among the most famous works of G. F. Handel and is a lasting part of the world historical musical epoch. The poet also wrote a poem about Mozart years ago titled A Little Night Music. The book is supplemented with period engravings and prints of scores.
