Description
Social pedagogy is one of the significant pedagogical disciplines of today. It contributes to addressing certain negative impacts of society on children, youth, and ultimately adults. In the presented monograph, the author focuses on two significant Czech figures in social pedagogy from the recent past and present. They are Přemysl Pitter (1895–1976) and Miroslav Dědič (*1925). Both contributed to the development of this field in both theory and concrete practice. A substantial part of their social pedagogical work involved working with children, youth, and adults of different nationalities. The publication is a valuable contribution to understanding the most significant figures in social pedagogy in the Czech Republic, whose importance is also inspiring for today's multicultural Europe.
