The workbook – a set of cards – is designed for teaching the Czech language in the 1st grade as supplementary material for introducing and reading syllables, to enhance and facilitate the beginning of reading. The syllable cards can also be used for forming first words and sentences, as well as in various educational games. • It consists of a set of A5-sized cards made of sturdy paper. • The cards are single-sided – each card features two syllables, with half of the card dedicated to each syllable. Each card has a dividing line marked, along which the cards can be cut into individual syllables, resulting in A6-sized pieces (the exception is the back cover, which contains four syllables on the inside and four on the outside). • On the inside of the front cover, you will find a complete list of syllables and instructions on how to work with the cards, including examples of words and sentences that can be formed from the syllables. • The set includes syllables with all consonants from ŽA (m. l, p, s) and additionally with the consonants t, j, n. • The appearance of the front side: A black-and-white image representing the word for the given syllable - for example: lo - shovel (the image can be colored) and the syllable written in lowercase letters.
