V hlavní roli rozhlas! – Pokorný Milan (2018)

Radio as a literary hero in the works of outstanding and forgotten representatives of Czech literature. In this anthology of short stories, essays, fairy tales, excerpts from novels, and plays, both prominent and forgotten figures of Czech literature are presented. Their texts share one common feature: the radio device or radio broadcasting plays a dominant role in them. The publication maps the transformations of the radio phenomenon in Czech society from its early steps to the present. At the same time, it serves as a unique testimony to the changes in the literary treatment of a single theme over nearly a hundred years. These are fragments of a mirror in which the ever-changing face of radio – and thus our own – is reflected multiple times.
