When my publisher asked me if I could imagine writing a book about George Soros and his Open Societies, especially considering a possible scenario of hidden motives behind philanthropy, I was well aware that I was not embarking on an easy topic. However, I could not detach myself from it. Even while working on my books about alternative energy sources, I noticed that Soros was, on one hand, always a staunch opponent of fossil fuels, but on the other hand, he himself invested large sums in coal companies.
