Description
The long-awaited publication "Karel Paták – Monografie" is being released these days. This book title from the Beroun publishing house Machart, dedicated to the overview of the lifelong work of academic painter Karel Paták, makes accessible to the general public the life and work of an artist who has made a significant mark on the cultural consciousness of Beroun. It is the first monograph dedicated to the work of this author. The book summarizes Paták's work from his student years at the Academy of Fine Arts through his work in promotional art, illustration, and portraiture to the present day, when Karel Paták creates unconventional collages using computer graphics technology. The book includes a preface dedicated to the painter's life, authored by Beroun writer Jiří Kahoun. It also features memories and insights from several Beroun personalities who accompanied Karel Paták on his life journey, including Jiří Kreissl, Jan Velíšek, Vladimír Čáp, Pavel Machač, Jiří Vydra, Jaroslava Obdržálková, and others. These people created with him, got to know him during their studies, met him in his role as an artist, or as a long-time teacher at the Art School in Beroun. The book will be ceremoniously launched on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at 5 PM at the Václav Talich Elementary Art School.
