První věta – Žáci Smysluplné školy v Praze-Karlíně (2013)

Students of the Meaningful School in Prague-Karlín – The First Sentence On Friday afternoon, the gates closed, and the school could rest. Do you know the game where someone says the first sentence, the second continues, the third adds on, the fourth joins in... and so on, until a whole story is created? The children from Prague's Karlín played it. In seven groups, they created seven different stories starting with the same first sentence: 'On Friday afternoon, the gates closed, and the school could rest.' The children recorded the stories, then transcribed, stylistically edited, illustrated, and designed the graphic layout. The inspiring project of the Meaningful School focused on developing reading literacy opened the world of book creation to the children and, with the support of the publishing house 65. pole, allowed them to publish a real book in the children's edition Políčko. It took place throughout the entire school year and involved more than two hundred students. The project continues with a survey on the school website, where the most interesting story is voted on, dramatization of the text, and the creation of an audio recording.
