The Old Czech and Moravian Legends are another volume in the Adapted Czech Prose series. In ten legends, the most famous names and events of Czech national mythology and history are presented: the forefather Čech, Libuše and Přemysl, Libuše's prophecy, Horymír with his faithful horse Šemík, the girls' war, Prince Václav, King Ječmínek, and others. Students thus have the opportunity to become acquainted with the characters, events, and sayings that can be said to form the foundation of the national and historical consciousness of every Czech.
