Description
Taping is a method of bandaging body parts, most commonly limbs, using firm and flexible adhesive strips of various widths depending on the size and location of the taping application. The purpose of these bandages is to stabilize the part of the body to which the tape is applied. Such treatment protects against destructive changes, for example during athletic performance, while the limb is not restricted in its movement function. Taping is effective, for instance, in correcting fallen arches of the foot, correcting a bunion, and similar issues. Taping with elastic tapes is used to alleviate pain in muscles and joints and to improve the function of muscles, tendons, and joints, supports blood and lymph circulation, and has a beneficial effect on the healing of muscle ruptures, further stabilizes joints, improves the condition of postoperative scars, and helps improve the state after paresis. The advantage of this method is the possibility of combining individual applications to eliminate painful conditions, for example, to treat the elbow in cases of epicondylitis (tennis elbow) and so on.
