Description
The book represents the first original Czech work dedicated to the concept of culture from the perspective of bioculturology. The author builds on anthropological and culturological approaches to the concept of culture, relating it to the historical development of Darwinian interpretations of culture. Special attention is given in the book to key concepts and terms from sociobiology, evolutionary psychology, human ethology, memetics, human behavioral ecology, and approaches referred to as the co-evolution of genes and culture. The author analyzes and interprets models of culture created within these disciplines and directions and compares them with anthropological and culturological approaches. The book fills a long-standing gap in Czech scholarly literature, which has not systematically addressed Darwinian interpretations of culture until now.
