Krize a Kairos – kolektiv autorů (2011)

The common aim of the two-volume publication "Crisis and Kairos" is to reflect on the current and multifaceted theme of crisis from the perspective of Christian thought. The first volume approaches the topic from a broader theological perspective. Its task is to inquire into the significance of crisis in the light of God's revelation present in the Holy Scriptures, in the teachings of the Church Fathers, in church traditions, and in the magisterium. Through the perspectives of various fields such as biblical theology, patristics, systematic or pastoral theology, or church history, it aims to highlight that crisis can often be understood as kairos and a time of grace. The unifying element of the second volume of "Crisis and Kairos" is the effort to reflect on the theme of crisis in its specific forms from a Christian perspective. The content of the volume is also determined by the effort for an interdisciplinary approach, thus the theme of crisis is examined from the perspective of various, especially humanities disciplines. Individual chapters approach the topic from the perspective of history, economics, ethics, psychology, or religious teachings, for example. Their goal is not to describe all the significant and important crises of the contemporary world.
