Czech research on the Kladno region, which has been politically suppressed for years, is now experiencing a renaissance. It is increasingly coming into the focus not only of historians but also of art historians, ethnographers, ethnologists, archaeologists, and others. Bogusław Czechowicz's publication this time focuses on Polish historiographical literature concerning the Kladno region and its often close ties to the political situation, whether purely domestic or international. The book contains an analytical section in which the author compares the theses of selected Polish researchers, as well as original text excerpts written by Polish scientists and science popularizers between 1945 and 1991. The monograph on the history of Polish historiography will undoubtedly interest the academic community, but it can also complement the context of research for many scientific workers.
