Description
The presented collective monograph by Czech and foreign experts attempts to grasp the problem of the relationship between religion and the state in broader historical, legal, and theological contexts while leaving open space for further reflection. The first chapters focus on outlining the relationship of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam to the state in connection with their sacred texts and the early histories of these religious traditions. The second part presents reflections on monotheistic religions in the context of modern political history. The third part brings studies on selected issues of the specific relationship of Christian doctrine to the state.
