Daniil Andreyev's seminal work, The Rose of the World, which the author himself defined as a "metahistorical essay," offers a completely new perspective on the meaning of history, human life, and the entire universe. This comprehensive philosophical-religious concept provides an unconventional approach to a range of theoretical thought frameworks, whether in theology, philosophy, or the natural sciences. The Rose of the World combines the best of religious and philosophical thought from previous centuries, with a particular emphasis on following the moral ideal and principles of the highest ethics. The poet, prose writer, philosopher, and visionary Daniil Leonidovich Andreyev (1906-1959), the second son of the prominent Russian writer L. N. Andreyev (1871-1919), is one of the most original authors of the 20th century. The conditions of the Stalinist political system, in which he could not consider publishing his works, fundamentally influenced the formation of his personality as a thinker and poet. In 1947, he was sentenced to twenty-five years in prison for alleged anti-Soviet activities.
