Ambitious and self-confident women, even if heavyset and neglected, are valued. They can choose the father of their child from a sperm bank catalog, without the sperm donor ever learning of his fatherhood. Their ritual of collective initiation into the mystery of sex outrages and entertains the public. Parliamentary elections are approaching. Will reason or folly and the whims of ideologues prevail? An anti-utopian novel with many vivid characters...
