Description
Have you ever felt an overwhelming desire to change your previously dull and pointless life? If so, you resonate with Karel, the main character of the novel Air Castle. To fulfill his desire, he finds a friend from his teenage years, and both of them plunge headfirst into the whirlwind of the wild business of the 1990s. Trained mechanics choose the hit of the season at that time: the import and sale of used cars. Despite all objective and subjective obstacles and relationship twists, they quickly manage to build a strong company that successfully crushes the competition. Their upward journey is halted only by Karel's crazy idea, which both partners begin to pursue with fanatical effort. Their stubbornness, along with a cynical interplay of adverse external influences, leads to an inevitable downfall. Although the location is not mentioned in the text, the dialogues conducted in the Brno dialect, spiced with elements of hantecu, hint at where the story takes place.
