Description
Czech Skeptics is primarily a book of humor. It expresses astonishment at what is possible and what we humans are ready to believe. However, skeptics do not mock the gullible, the victims, but rather the fraudsters and charlatans who sell nonsensical illusions and non-functioning products. Ideologues of the absurd, contactees with phantasmagorias. Laughter before them warns better than a raised index finger. Many of them have received the anti-award Bludný balvan, and their list is included in the book along with excerpts from the funniest laudations. You can also read facts about who Czech skeptics actually are, how they originated, how they work, and how they have fun. The book was compiled from materials of the Czech Skeptics Club Sisyfos by its co-founder and well-known prose writer Věra Nosková, who added her own texts.
