Description
In the summer of 2006, two friends set off for Ukraine. They traveled by car, which they affectionately call Audinko throughout the journey, and they also take along the pagan goddess Kotys, who is chosen as the patroness of this trip to unknown lands. Their intention to explore a large part of Ukraine is fulfilled, as is the successful search for the author's roots, her family ties, and personal experiences. Friend Vanda is a distinctive personality and comments on everything with zest, elevating even the mundane observations to humorous spheres. Much more happens than could be anticipated, and so-called coincidences multiply. What the two Czech women experience in just a few days in Ukraine bears the stamp of warmth and affection, much like the approach of most of the local people towards them.
