Description

Ondřej Neff (1945) is one of the significant European authors of sci-fi and has been commenting on politics for over twenty years. A journalist, writer, photographer, and educator, he publishes mainly in the newspapers Lidové noviny and Neviditelný pes, the latter of which he invented and founded himself. In addition, he has published around seventy book titles, is translated into foreign languages, and his prose appears in both foreign and domestic anthologies, while he himself manages to adapt classic Verne stories with a passionate creativity. Neff, known online as Aston, has also created acclaimed comics, including those with Kája Saudek, has diligently written for radio and television, and is drawn to theater. He paints. He constantly tries something new, knows how to tell and explain vividly and clearly, lectures on photography, and writes about it in his other personal diary, Digineff. The online diary Neviditelný pes was founded back in 1996, and since hyperactivity is an inherent part of him, he repeatedly has to come to terms with the fact that he irritates people who lack this perhaps foolish need to keep creating. His pragmatically rational approach to the world may disillusion many a more poetic soul. But can he be otherwise? After all, scientific fiction is poetry too, and the son of the great storyteller Vladimír Neff knows how to tell stories; differently and in his own way. This is also demonstrated by the book...
