Description
On the occasion of the life anniversary of the significant Czech legal Romanist, legal historian, and translator Prof. JUDr. Michal Skřejpek DrSc., who works at the Department of Legal History at the Faculty of Law of Charles University, a collective of 60 authors prepared a publication whose central theme is the search for the influence of Roman law on the formation of modern law and the genesis of the values of European civilization. The book focuses on both Roman law in antiquity and the examination of those institutes of private and public law in which Roman law has left its significant, or conversely, now barely noticeable traces. The authors of the book are experts from Czech and Slovak universities.
