Description
The current situation in Europe compels us to reconsider the significance of the words border, foreigner, and integration, both in state or political terms and in cultural, linguistic, religious, and other senses. To what extent are these concepts determined by their historical roots? Aware of the complexity of the posed question, the authors of this book attempt to find at least partial answers. They approach the topic separately on two levels. The first part of the book addresses the defined theme in ancient Rome, primarily based on its own law, namely Roman law. In the second part, the authors focus on certain aspects of borders and foreigners from the Middle Ages to the end of the last millennium.
