Description
Migration has always been a part of human history, including the Czech, or rather Czechoslovak, history. The main causes of the current wave of migration are war, poverty, or humanitarian disaster in the countries of origin of the individuals who have started leaving for Europe in recent years. This book examines the situation of third-country nationals from a socio-legal perspective, specifically regarding their social integration, which is a fundamental prerequisite for social cohesion and stability, as well as an effective tool for preventing social-pathological phenomena. The authors in this book thoroughly map and analyze the current state of legal guarantees of social rights for foreigners, both in international law and in EU law. They also address issues of residence and social integration in Czech law. In all these areas, they primarily investigate access to employment, healthcare, pension insurance, assistance in material need, and education.
