Description
The book presents a new perspective on the circumstances surrounding the so-called Munich Agreement of 1938. Although it may seem that everything has already been written about this chapter of our history, the book demonstrates that new connections can still be found. The authors focus their attention on the further fate of the Munich Agreement, on the process by which it was, in the words of E. Beneš, 'atoned for,' and in what contexts we encounter it both during World War II and long after its end. The book is made particularly interesting by the contemporary and post-war positions of the signatories of the Munich Agreement, i.e., the states that participated in the Munich betrayal. The book also contains previously unpublished information that the authors obtained from foreign archives.
