Vykopávka – Andersson Max (2016)

The comic epic begins quite innocently, with the main character going to visit his parents and siblings. However, when he arrives at the place where his family lived, he discovers that a team of strange archaeologists from the country is currently excavating the remains of the house. An archaeological museum of the excavations has already been established on the native soil, where the hero's family becomes the main attraction. A tangle of unexpectedly anticipated events begins to unravel, and the revived family starts to intrude into the hero's life without hesitation. There is a detachable penis, a corpse under the table, windows to pornographic neighbors, makeshift wooden showers in the middle of a restaurant, a mother as a wise Siamese twin, herds of violent trees... The author worked on the book for over eighteen years and was inspired by his own dream experiences. The excavation initially appeared in chapters in the author's Seattle periodical 'Death and Candy' and in the Swedish comic monthly 'Galago', and was first published in book form in 2016 in Stockholm.
