Description
Fallen Summer Apples is a collection of short stories where women are the driving forces behind men's destinies. Dora Čechova finds beauty in the mundane details of relationships and uncovers the depth of moments that we often pass by unnoticed. In thematically diverse stories, she poses questions about why someone can wait a lifetime for love, why the moments when we feel happy are so fragile, and why we love those who reject us. The heroes of the stories believe and reassure themselves that love ultimately leaves hope for everyone. The texts are accompanied by photographs from FAMU student Lucie Kuklišová. Dora Čechova (1971) is a Czech writer of Russian descent. She studied text creation and screenwriting at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory. In 2012, she debuted with the critically acclaimed short story collection I Didn't Want to Be Lenin, published by Labyrint. In 2014, she released a volume of interviews titled Life and Sculptures of Olbram Zoubek. She currently teaches literary drama and lives with her family near Prague.
