Description
The book Selected Chapters from Clinical Nutrition I is based on the Clinical Nutrition Course, which serves as a prerequisite for obtaining a Certificate of Competence for providing nutritional care (license F016). The individual chapters are derived from lectures conducted in this course. The main topics cover diabetes mellitus, care for pulmonary patients, nutrition in celiac disease or idiopathic intestinal inflammation, nutrition for nephrology patients, and patients with hepatic encephalopathy and liver failure. For the first time, a chapter on perioperative nutrition is included, which also addresses accelerated preparation and recovery (fast track). Chapters on measuring energy expenditure and pharmaceutical preparation of all-in-one bags are also added.
