Description
Milan Martinec has been travelling by bicycle along paved, country and forest roads since 1980, recording every journey in his cycling diary. This book presents four major European trips made between 2011 and 2014: to Moldova, the Curonian Spit, the British Isles and Malta. During these expeditions, he travelled through Slovakia, Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Belgium, France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia’s Kaliningrad Region, Lithuania, Italy, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily and Malta. Although the nearly 350,000 kilometres he has ridden might suggest that he is a professional cycle traveller, Martinec has always travelled only during his regular holidays, with four weeks being the maximum. His experiences can therefore inspire all non-professional travellers, provided they are prepared to cover around 200 kilometres a day and two to four thousand kilometres during a holiday. The book is in Czech.
