Divoká hranice – König Rainer (2012)

Honor to whom honor is due! Except for a few harsh winter days, this narrow and winding road has been a reliable connection between Selb and Aš since time immemorial. At the edge of this road, crowds of people are pressing together. They have even come from Hof, Bayreuth, and northern Upper Palatinate. And besides: school is out, the weather is beautiful, and of course, there is an excellent mood in anticipation of the unprecedented: Leader and Chancellor Adolf Hitler would elevate this road, which is essentially just a better dirt path, to a grand avenue by stepping onto it as he enters a new part of the Reich, which he snatched from the coward Chamberlain and company in Munich. But this road will have to cope with others: a crying woman with two frightened children who just an hour ago had to watch as their grandfather was shoved into a cesspool, and the soldiers prevented him from surfacing for so long that only a few bubbles appeared on the surface. This woman with her children will not be the only one. An endless procession of hopeless people, carrying only a few belongings on their backs or on a cart, is on the way... back to the Reich.
