The author summarizes his experiences and those of leading Czech fly fishers into separate sections, where he attempts to describe everything related to the life of fish and their capture in flowing waters, still waters, and at sea. You will learn details about the characteristics of waters, the life, manifestations, and behavior of the most commonly caught fish on artificial flies, and about the life of the insects that fish feed on. You will become familiar with the necessary equipment for fly fishing and general rules for catching fish. The tactics and techniques for fishing in flowing waters are described in detail, along with principles of fly fishing in still waters, including recommendations for selecting suitable lines and patterns of flies appropriate for individual target fish. Great attention is also given to fishing from vessels on still waters, especially from boats, which is still an underutilized method of fly fishing.
