Description
Members of the special Jewish unit known as the 'sonderkommando' were the only eyewitnesses to the mass murder occurring in the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp. No one else – apart from the perpetrators themselves – was allowed to know what was happening in the Auschwitz death factory. However, the members of the sonderkommando were not merely witnesses – they had to perform the most horrific work imaginable, as they were forced to keep the machinery of death running: they prepared for the mass murders of innocent victims, hundreds of thousands of people, including children and women.
The authors of the book Witnesses from the Death Factory managed to compel those who survived to recount the indescribable horrors. Their authentic testimonies became the foundation for a book that makes one's blood run cold and shows that human evil knows no boundaries.
