The story takes place in the not-so-distant future of the second half of the 21st century, when Europe, ravaged and weakened by many years of unsuccessful attempts to save the planet from climate change, is occupied by the Chinese army under the pretext of a humanitarian mission. In the opening story, you can follow a community of bickering seniors who have fled from the Chinese Big Brother into the Brdy forests, trying to snatch whatever they can from life in a caravan colony. However, not everything is as it seems at first glance; not all seniors are human, and not everyone wants to live out their days peacefully away from the 'Chinese,' as one level of the Chinese game is also taking place here. The following novel is set about ten years later. Even in it, not everything is as it appears at first sight. Is Lieutenant Filip Frýdl from the Prague police investigating a serial killer, or is he being investigated himself? Is he merely a pawn in a higher level of the Chinese game?
