He left us on October 1, 2019, in his home in Prague's Bertramka, peacefully and quietly, surrounded by his beloved family. This occurred shortly after the celebration of his eightieth birthday and after he announced through the newspaper Blesk that he was battling acute leukemia. Karel Gott lived a fruitful life, both artistically and personally, one that many could envy. He saw and experienced so much that would take several lifetimes for others. He accomplished much more for our country and for his home than we can yet appreciate. His popularity reached heights and knows no bounds.
