The text of the textbook is clearly divided into short subsections, with the titles of the individual subsections being informative enough to allow for easy review of the material, for example, before the diploma or university entrance exam. The main author of the work has utilized his extensive experience with popular science literature, so even the explanation of relatively difficult material is presented in a fresh and easily manageable form. In the second part, the individual chapters are supplemented with sets of review questions that can serve to verify mastery of the material and can also guide the student to deeper contemplation of the relevant topics. The book is primarily intended for high school students, teachers, and possibly undergraduate students. However, it will also serve well for anyone who wants to familiarize themselves with modern knowledge of perhaps the most important biological field in a lively, simple, and above all concise manner. As one of the most significant geneticists of the 20th century, Theodosius Dobzhansky, wrote: 'In biology, nothing makes sense except in the light of evolution.'
