Description
The textbook on cell biology is intended for a wide range of high school students. It includes 14 chapters covering the biology of cells, bacteria, cyanobacteria, archaea, and viruses. The first chapter discusses the organization of life on Earth, while chapters 2-5 focus on the chemical composition and structure of cells. The following chapters are dedicated to processes such as the intake and output of substances by the cell (chapter 6), cell reproduction (chapter 7), cellular respiration (chapter 8), and photosynthesis in plant cells (chapter 9). In chapters 10 and 11, you will become acquainted with the world of bacteria and cyanobacteria, chapter 12 briefly discusses representatives of the domain Archaea, chapter 13 is dedicated to viruses and viral infections. The final chapter focuses on comparing prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells and provides a summary of the characteristics of animal, plant, and fungal cells, what they have in common, and how they differ. The structure of the text is similar to that in Genetics. An important component of the Cell Biology textbook is the large number of images (drawings, diagrams, photographs) that aid in better understanding the material by creating concrete and accurate representations of the discussed phenomena and cellular processes.
