Wirtschaftsdeutsch aktuell – Höppnerová Věra (2010)

This German-language textbook is intended for a wide range of learners wishing to improve especially their spoken communication on professional topics and their ability to read specialized texts. It can be used at higher vocational and university economics schools as well as in company courses. It develops the language skills needed for work in foreign companies and international organizations, or for studying economics at universities in German-speaking countries. On completion, learners reach levels B2 to C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference. The course contains 20 lessons, a key to translation exercises and crosswords, and a concluding German-Czech glossary. Each lesson reviews a grammatical or lexical feature typical of the language of business, including the passive voice, verbo-nominal constructions, active and passive participles, the expression of numerical data, and false friends in German. The textbook also offers current and engaging texts on general economics and micro- and macroeconomics, many of which introduce the realities of German-speaking countries and the Czech Republic.
