Description
The third volume compares through old photographs and postcards from the late 19th century to the 1950s with identical shots taken by the Litoměřice photographer Josef Rotter in the present day. This confrontation uniquely documents the development and transformations of Litoměřice, the pearl of northern Bohemia. This third volume offers, in addition to a colorful mosaic of motifs known, lesser-known, and in many cases completely forgotten corners of Litoměřice, a focus on people and their lives in the city. A walk through the town accompanied by engaging texts from the Litoměřice patriot Vitalij Marek begins in the square, mapping individual businesses and trades for which historical photographs have been obtained. It continues into the surrounding streets in the city center and gradually heads towards its outskirts. In one of the photographs, for example, a young boy, later popular comedian Felix Holzmann, poses with his sister Ema in a delicatessen run by Felix's father along with his brother.
